Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index registers a drop of 4.18%, NIFTY Crashes 1.25%

Nifty PSU Bank index closed down 4.18% at 6323.85 today. The index has lost 5.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Punjab National Bank fell 7.18%, Central Bank of India dropped 6.48% and Bank of Maharashtra slipped 5.98%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has increased 33.00% over last one year compared to the 26.92% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Realty index has slid 3.38% and Nifty PSE index has slid 3.25% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has slid 1.25% to close at 24472.1 while the SENSEX has declined 1.15% to close at 80220.72 today.
